Friends & Family,
For all who have been keeping in contact with me in NC or VA, watching me from a distance during my move to Portland, Oregon to take an unpaid internship, let me just say, God has been SO faithful and paved a way through seemingly impossible situations. The story of how I moved to Portland to be involved in church ministry has been such a fun adventure. If you have not heard the full story, I would love to personally share with you! Many treasures awaited me in Portland even though I knew very little about the area and knew no one.
Yet, now I can say that Portland is a home to me. I am greatly blessed by the covering and the community here with my church, The Father’s House, as they point me towards heaven and walk with me to bring heaven down on earth with our worship and praise. I have never in my life witnessed hearts awakening to the truth and been given such favor with people open and hungry to hear about Jesus. Who would have thought Portland, Oregon would be such a place of revival??
The mission of my church is to live out Isaiah 60, to know that, in the midst of darkness, the glory of the Lord covers his people and shines through the darkness. This is what I have witnessed in Portland as I have seen strongholds break because of intercession, claiming territory, and proclaiming the name of Jesus throughout the city.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn…”
In this season, I have been pouring most of my time and energy into the internship at the Father’s House because God called me to this community! Also, I have been balancing full-time school. Fortunately, this is my last semester as a full-time online student at Regent. I am so excited to graduate in May! God has given me the strength to finish my bachelor’s degree in 3 years. This past semester, I felt like God was strengthening and stretching me to grow in believing for a financial provision in Portland.
Having an internship without a salary was new for me yet, this past semester, I had more money coming in than when I've had any job in the past!! The first thing I received was free housing with my executive pastors! The next thing was a bike (which was a huge blessing since I did not bring my car)! I have also received monthly Portland public transportation passes from my church. There were also numerous times friends would randomly give me money/gift cards because they just felt led to. My family has also been supporting me. I could not do this work without them! Jesus always shows up! I have not been in lack and my cup has not only been just enough, but it has been constantly overflowing during my time here in Portland!
My internship at Father’s House goes through the end of May. I have witnessed the miraculous and the abundance of God’s provision and feel He is leading me to open this for others to share in this blessing. I just wanted to share my heart hoping to encourage others that God is faithful in all circumstances and He works miracles through a path that may seem impossible.
If you feel led to support me for the remainder of my internship in ministry, you can support me in several ways, through cash app, through Venmo, or message me if you want to give in another way! Thank you all for cheering me on as I am on this adventure of all God has for me in the Pacific Northwest!
