Part 2- Religion Mountain
“The mountain of religion is ultimately going to be a mountain that fully honors Jesus”- Johnny Enlow
This mountain is represented with the color blue:
“God as the redeemer”.
The mountain of religion touches and affects all the other mountains of influence. This mountain is the foundation where its fruit, resources, and truth will flow into the surrounding mountains.
The purpose of the mountain of religion: to bring honor to God.
Honor and glory, which only belongs to God, have been misrepresented in the world, creating a counterfeit of the true meaning.
Other things competing for the for heart of God:
1. False religions.
2. False representation of who God is.
4. Religious spirit/performance mentality.
Lie in the current religious system:
“If I work hard enough to live a good life, God will be pleased with me.”
Truth: We need a redeemer in order to intimately know God and His character.
God loves you because it’s in His nature.
Your sin or good deed does not change His mind towards you. His love is steady.
From Religion to an Intimate Relationship.
God doesn’t operate through rules and regulations or the religious based-knowing.
As we bring honor back to Jesus in this mountain, this honor is deeper than just behaving out of performance to receive attention from God. This honor is pure and humble as we come before God.
Ever wonder how we have been freed from the debt of sin?
John 10:16 says it all. “Righteousness is available because I go to the Father.”
We are free from performing to receive His grace. Jesus’ blood on the cross already took care of that.
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent His own son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving His son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.”
This means life to us and death to sin! This also means that Jesus’ sacrifice took the place of the law. We no longer have to go to a priest to enter the presence of God.
Jesus is the way to the Father! We are not left alone either. Jesus promises the Holy Spirit to be our advocate and comforter.
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
When other religions or other voices speak louder than the truth of Jesus, stand on the word of God.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
Satan’s assignment against the mountain of religion:
1. Hide the truth that God is the king and savior of the world.
2. Prevent the discovery of God’s powerful love that breaks every chain.
3. Twist the creations of the world and use it to deny that there is even a creator.
4. Hinder people from seeing the goodness of God.
5. Deceive and generate false teachings in the church.
6. Create a counterfeit of how to reach God - religious mentality that creates shame if not achieved.
7. Use the church's history throughout the centuries to create division and misrepresent who God is.
8. Generate a counterfeit of worship- making it all about man. (idolatry)
We don’t have to wait till we get to heaven to experience God’s goodness. We can pull heaven down with our worship and grow in intimacy with Christ.
Rather than just talking about God as if He is in another room, we can be confident that God is with us and lives inside of those who receive Him.
How to partner with God in the mountain of religion?
We must take time to know the Savior and allow that to direct our lives.
Partner with the Holy Spirit to release revelation into the earth.
Showcase honor as a lifestyle towards God and your neighbors.
Humble yourself before the Lord and he will lift you up.
Stand firm on the word of God.
Give him glory and worship even when you don't "feel" like it.
When we give God that honor, we are restoring His reputation and character bringing heaven to earth. It’s time to give God back the honor. He deserves to be praised!
Do you believe that God is using YOU to restore the image of God through your worship or ministry?
Emily U. and Ashley T. represented the mountain of religion in my recent photo shoot. They shared their hearts on their calling and what it looks like to release the truth of Jesus in the everyday.

"It’s an honor to be in the realm of worship leading. To me, there is nothing better than watching an entire room lift up the name of Jesus. Seeing your team grow into their gifts and abilities is so rewarding. Over the years of leading, I have found that it starts with yourself before you ever enter the platform. What you cultivate when no one is watching pours out into the songs you sing or play. Your hearts position towards God is the #1 thing that matters far above ability or status."

“ Being a Christian is not just about being within the four walls. It’s about overflowing and pouring out in the marketplace, school districts, government, workplaces, grocery stores, and everywhere we go! If it says in Matthew 5:14 that “we are the light of the world, a city on a hill can not be hidden”, that means whether or not you're trying to shine, you do shine!
The church should be the place where every person from any background or race would run to because they feel safe, loved and known. Imagine if the body of Christ had every resource for people; the sons and daughters of the kingdom of God had the most creative inventions, the best business leaders, the most humble and loving people, and the biggest givers financially!
What if we could excel at everything we did because we have the creator of the world living in us! I believe this is happening today! I know it’s attainable because I see heaven invade earth everywhere I go. I’ve seen miracles and healing at my workplace. My coworkers and patients are giving their lives to Jesus. I believe we can leave an impact everywhere we go. I know we can live a life where people just look at you and know that you are different and want the very light that you carry. So let your light shine bright!”
